More than one-third of the ports sold for 10+ Mbps
Ethernet services in the U.S. are being used for dedicated Internet
Access (DIA), according to Vertical Systems Group. DIA is
followed by customers migrating from dedicated IP-VPN and ATM
services, the greenfields, frame relay and private lines.
"DIA customers have the broadest migration options for
access, website hosting and VOIP applications, with
competitively-priced Ethernet connectivity to the Internet available
form nationwide service providers, many regional ISPs and cable MSO
providers," said Rick Malone, Vertical Systems Group principal.
