BOSTON
(May 20, 2008) - More than eighty service
providers are delivering retail Carrier Ethernet services to business
customers in the U.S. Services range from Dedicated Internet Access (DIA)
to Ethernet Private Lines to VPLS (Virtual Private LAN Service).
According to Vertical Systems Group's research, Large Enterprise and
SMB (small and medium business) customers are purchasing Ethernet
services supplied by three distinct types of providers: Incumbent
Carriers, Competitive Providers and Cable MSOs. Target market
strategies, geographic network scope, the range of Ethernet services
offered, and pricing are the key differentiators among the three
provider segments.
