 Mr. Malone is a Principal of Vertical Systems Group,
responsible for managing the firm's Market Research and Analysis
practice. In this capacity, he coordinates all research
resources, directs the utilization of Vertical's proprietary
databases and market models, and
consults with Vertical's client base.
He co-founded the firm in 1986 to
deliver practical, market-oriented intelligence to the networking
industry and its users. Mr. Malone advises clients on market
opportunities, segmentation and sizing, technology trends and
business strategy. Cited as one of 25
"Unsung Heroes" of the Internet, he
is recognized by media and trade associations as an authoritative
source for quantifying technology adoption and the resulting impacts on network
migration.
With more than 25 years of business applications and networking
experience, Mr. Malone's background is in strategic marketing and
technology management. Before founding Vertical, he participated in
the start-up of a venture-funded telecom switch manufacturer, and
held management positions at packet switching pioneer Tymnet and at
a computer services company.
